Wyeths by Water Excursions

Message from Linda

Welcome to Wyeths by Water, where three generations of Wyeth art come to life in a fun and entertaining boat tour! Led by our Coast Guard certified crew and knowledgeable tour guides, you’ll depart on a 2.5 hour excursion in my 42-foot lobster boat built by one of Maine’s historic designers, Royal Lowell. You’ll view the Wyeth summer home, Eight Bells since 1920, island destinations, and even a lighthouse or two, all from this unique perspective. We’ll take you to the sites of emotionally powerful fine art paintings by Andrew Wyeth and Jamie Wyeth, and show you how N.C. Wyeth incorporated Port Clyde area landmarks into classic book and American advertising, like the Coca-Cola ads of the 1930s and 40s. Port Clyde will capture your imagination and steal your heart as you experience the raw emotion that drew the Wyeths here and fueled their art.

Itinerary #1 | Tuesday 2 PM

Saint George River. You’ll view the famed Olson House from the water, from the exact orientation of Andrew Wyeth’s woman in the pink dress in “Christina’s World” owned by the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
